If you’re a startup that wouldn’t mind moving your office south of Chambers Street, Take the HELM wants to hear from you.
Take the HELM’s basic goal to complement the Financial District with a more diverse array of businesses, which is why the organization aims to give up to five companies $250,000 to make lower Manhattan their home.
You don’t have to be a startup to apply, however. Take the HELM is targeting creative, tech and new New Yorker-run companies to be a part of the contest as well. So don’t shy away from applying if your company has been around for more than three years.
As far as the evaluation criteria go, the judges are looking for innovative companies that can help diversify lower Manhattan and re-brand it as a growth-prone business hub. And that’s an exciting thing to be a part of.
The deadline for applications is December 31st, so if you’re looking for free money and a new office, you’d best get moving.
