grammyIt was a star-studded evening of music and glitter, and every last moment was tracked on Twitter. OK, maybe tech journalists shouldn’t rap, but they can at least write about the data surrounding it.

While TV ratings were down for this year’s Grammy Awards, tweets went up. Social media intelligence agency the Whispr Group tracked who dominated the social media spotlight during the 55th Grammys. Based on data points surrounding hashtags, nominees, performances, style, and fans, and followers, a few things were made abundantly clear: Alice in Wonderland is not a good look for everyone, Justin Timberlake is and will forever remain a heart throb, and fervent self-promotion works.
