You knew that Activision wasn’t just partnering with Eminem to put one of his songs in a Call of Duty trailer.
Activision is revealing today that fans who preorder Call of Duty: Ghosts at GameStop can pick up Eminem’s new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, for $9. That’s a “special price offer,” according to the publisher. The GameStop version of the album also includes a bonus track.
“The energy and intensity of ‘Survival’ really matches Call of Duty: Ghosts,” Eminem said in a statement. “I’m excited to continue to be a part of the franchise.”
In August, Activision released the multiplayer trailer for Ghosts that featured Eminem’s track “Survival of the Fittest” off the new album.
“The breadth of this program takes our partnership to a new level and will continue to unfold in the months to come,” Activision Publishing chief marketing officer Tim Ellis said in a statement. “It’s going to be a massive day in entertainment with the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Marshall Mathers LP 2 both hitting on Nov. 5.”
Call of Duty: Ghosts is due out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC on Nov. 5. The game will also launch on the next-gen consoles. The PlayStation 4 debuts Nov. 15 and the Xbox One goes on sale Nov. 22.
