Famitsu, a weekly Japanese gaming magazine (via the message board NeoGAF), revealed the 100 best-selling physical games of 2013 in Japan. Nintendo had a strong showing, with the 3DS handheld dominating the chart. The Wii U performed also performed well. Nine of the top 10 games were on Nintendo systems. The PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto V was the only game to crack the top 10 that wasn’t on a Nintendo platform.

While 3DS software bunched up at the top, PlayStation 3 games were nearly as prominent throughout the rest of the list. Of the top 100, 36 are 3DS games, and 34 are PlayStation 3 titles.
The rest of list is made up of 10 PS Vita releases, 10 for PSP, seven for Wii U, two for Wii, and one for DS. The Xbox 360 did not have a single game in the top 100. The American console is not popular in Japan.
