Let that be their your last (match of) Battlefield.

Publisher Electronic Arts has revealed a list of 50 games that it’ll soon end online support for, including a lot of the older Battlefield games. This is all happening because of the closure of GameSpy, the online-multiplayer service that handled the matchmaking for all these titles.

“Since GameSpy’s announcement, our teams have been working to evaluate options to keep services up and running,” EA said in a statement. “Unfortunately, due to technical challenges and concerns about the player experience, we do not have a solution at this time. Online services for EA games on the GameSpy platform will be closed down at the end of June.”

Of course, fans will likely come up with their own solutions to keep the more popular titles online, though multiplayer support from the community might not be as stable as the old, official matchmaking from GameSpy.

“We know some of these games are still fan favorites, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and Command & Conquer games,” EA said in the statement. “We are still investigating community-supported options to preserve online functionality for these titles, such as multiplayer. Significant technical hurdles remain, and at this time we don’t have anything to announce.”
