DuckDuckGo & Yummly team up so you can search food porn in private

Ever wish you could keep those searches for warm nutty cinnamon quinoa on the DL? Well good news for you, now you can search for food porn in private. Pro-privacy search engine DuckDuckGo is partnering with Yummly, a digital recipe platform, to deliver better recipe search results.

Yummly is one of many sources DuckDuckGo uses to help it sift through web content, in addition to its own web crawler. This is how the search engine is able to contextualize the web without using filters based on individual search history, like Google does. The announcement comes on the heels of Apple’s recent news that DuckDuckGo will be a default search engine option on iOS 8 Safari.

DuckDuckGo has been tagged as a potential competitor to Google, and the company seems to be doggedly updating its offerings to catch up to Google’s level of popularity. In May, DuckDuckGo unveiled a sleek design overhaul with new features like place and image search.

The company sees an average of 5.7 million queries a day. While that marks significant growth for DuckDuckGo, the search engine still trails far behind Google, which averages 3.5 billion daily.

I think you should also give http://LookSeek.com a try, a non tracking private search engine, its a really good search. If you do a search for any product food or cars, a visual sites on the right hand side can be very helpful. If I do a search for a restaurant menu I usually get a good result on the right side of the page.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, maybe it's a honeypot.
