John Cena has long been the poster boy for the WWE, so it’s fitting that our first in-game screenshot for WWE 2K15 features him. The newest installment in the yearly wrestling franchise has new models that take advantage of the same head-scanning technology that 2K uses for its well-regarded basketball series, NBA 2K. As you can see in the screenshot above, the result looks great.
Of course, you really can’t appreciate the new model until you compare it to some of the old ones. So let’s see exactly how Cena’s look has evolved through the years.
The first model is from Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 on the PlayStation 2, the second is from Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the last one is the new model for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4’s WWE 2K15. Even without all of the over-the-top sweat, it’s a pretty striking improvement, don’t you think?
You’ll get to play as the new and improved Cena for yourself when WWE 2K15 launches Oct. 28. It’ll also come out for last-gen consoles, but those versions won’t feature the same improved graphics.
