Virtual reality will become even more amazing with these upcoming technologies (video)

The future of gaming is looking pretty crazy — especially if everything in this video from Siggraph’s Emerging Technologies preview comes to exist.

All of this tech comes from Siggraph 2014, a computer graphics and interactive technology conference that’s currently underway in Vancouver.

That’s a lot of cool stuff. Can you imagine having holograms play an active part in our gaming experiences? And what about that Pixie Dust thing? Imagine how well that could work with a rhythm game. Of course, nothing touches Birdly, the flying simulator that could have all of us flapping virtual wings and taking to the virtual skies.

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty hyped for the future of gaming right now.

Might be fun to play, but that bird flight sim looks ridiculous.

It's time to live in more reality, than virtual reality. The world is on ironical mode :/

I did this with old oculus but it was more of a chair and fan hack :)

The Birdly flying one was being exhibited at the Exploratorium! Unfortunately the line was ridiculously long so I had to pass, but it looked pretty cool.

Considering how expensive all this stuff will end up being, the amount of space it will take up, and the fact that it creates closed off experiences that can't be shared with anyone, I'm still pretty unhyped.

Can't wait for the VR bubble to burst.
