You may have trouble hooking up with friends on Xbox One.
Xbox Live isn’t working for everyone right now, according to a number of complaints on social media. Affected services include matchmaking, cloud storage, and friend invites. The issues are primarily impacting social features, but some gamers are also reporting troubles getting logged in at all. Xbox Live is the service that Xbox One owners use to play games online and to keep in touch with their friends. Many consumers pay for the premium subscription service Xbox Live Gold, which is one of the key sources of revenue for Microsoft.
The company has updated its status website to confirm that some features of its online gaming network are not functioning, but it is only specifying a single error affecting the backward-compatible Xbox 360 game Galaga.
Here’s the update from the status page:
“Hey Xbox members, are you having difficulty playing your new or previously purchased copy of Galaga with Xbox One Backward Compatibility? We’re aware of this issue, and we’re working to address it right away! In the meantime, we appreciate your patience. We’ll fill you in as soon as we know more.”
This comes after Xbox Live went offline for a few hours on Valentine’s Day.
Xbox Live has had a few issues this year. Microsoft’s network has gone offline a handful of times since January. But it isn’t alone. Sony’s PlayStation Network has had even more downtime through the same time period.
