Mobile shopping start-up Digby snags BlackBerry deal

Alltel’s BlackBerry devices will now come preloaded with a mobile shopping application called Digby. Just in time for holiday shopping.

Digby, of Austin, Texas, aims to make shopping-on-the-go easier. Web surfing on the Blackberry can be cumbersome, given most web sites aren’t designed for mobile devices. With Digby’s interface, users get immediate storefront access to partnering vendors, and can buy books, flowers, music, electronics, and such without hassle.

Twitter apparently banned in UAE, like many other sites

The United Arab Emirates has apparently banned Twitter because its content is “not consistent with the religious, cultural, political and moral values” of the country.

The report comes from investor Joi Ito, who posted this screenshot (below) on his blog while traveling through the country and experiencing the ban first-hand. He comments here, however, that he was able access Twitter from his hotel and the airport.

Digital pen maker Adapx of Seattle, Wash., says it is changing the way data is captured in the field – by giving you a new-fangled pen.

Nothing works in the field like good, old-fashioned pen and paper. You can chew on the end of the pen, you can use the paper for other things when you’re caught short in the field, and you can replace it all cheaply.
