A visit to the Multiplayer x2 video game art exhibit

While plenty of people will continue to argue over whether video games are art or not, others will go ahead and paint pictures of pixels. The Multiplayer x2 exhibit in Los Angeles, Calif. had plenty of affordable, nostalgic screen prints inspired by classic games.

I made good on my earlier promise to attend the host venue, Gallery1988, before the show ended. With a camera in hand, I took some shots of the different pieces and recorded a nice chat with Gallery1988’s Co-Owner Jensen Karp.

He told me about some of the history of the space, what it’s like to continue to curate exhibits of video game art, and more.

Check out the little video I put together to document it all. And keep in mind that even though the show has been over for a little while, the gallery will keep selling whatever prints it has left both onsite and online.
