GamesBeat Adding a shock collar to a Sega Genesis is a bad idea August 7, 2012 5:56 PM Jasmine Maleficent Rea This post has not been edited by the GamesBeat staff. Opinions by GamesBeat community writers do not necessarily reflect those of the staff. Many stupid things begin with a poorly planned creative impulse. For two curious French gamers, creativity gave them a shock collar wired into a Sega Genesis. Yeah, that seems safe…and fun. The idea is that every time your character is injured in a game, the collar gives you a shock. I guess if you really dig negative stimuli while trying to get through a difficult level, a device like this has a few uses. For the rest of us sane and tender-throated people, we'll stick with thumb blisters and hand cramps as a punishment for playing poorly.
