It is great to wake up in the morning and read Yahoo.com
Or rather it was last night that I read Yahoo.com but either way one thing was certain.
Nintendo is floundering. I am guessing because the Gamecube when it first came out oh so long ago was not the best. Out of the starting gates it seems that consoles
don’t have very great launch titles. Either way the Wii U has nothing to show for it. Also, according to the article it talked about the price of $300. The president of Nintendo Satoru Iwata in an article on Yahoo News the Week commented. Nintendo “president Satoru Iwata said that the company has no intention of lowering the price of its $300 flagship gaming system anytime soon. “We were already offering it at a good price,” he said. “
Therefore, it seems to me that Iwata is damn content on letting things be as they are. I mean if you don’t want to drop the console down $50 it is a little insane. Also, let’s go back to the part with the launch titles. I am not a Wii owner but where are the first person titles at? I think the saving grace at this point is Pikmin 3, A new Zelda, and you know that Nintendo has a wildcard somewhere in the deck.
I think that this article was not giving Nintendo a fair shake. I have always loved Nintendo but am concerned with the future product. Apparently, the article spoke about the horrible sales in 2011.
Fiscally, it is hurting Nintendo not to make other games. Will Nintendo step up?
I am hoping the answer is yes. Also, a heavy weight punch Nintendo has is the new Super Smas Bros. Nobody really knows when this title will drop.
One thing is certain if Nintendo does not clean up their act they are doomed.
Will Nintendo reach out to third party publishers?
Here is the article for your viewing pleasure.
What do you think?
Is it a horrible prediction?
