YouTube joins Facebook in the very exclusive billion monthly user club

Google announced today that YouTube now has over a billion unique visitors every single month. Which means that Google and Facebook have something very rare in common: both have a billion-person social network.

In other breathlessly breaking news, Facebook will top two billion users, probably two years from now. Google's website index will reach a trillion webpages, about two decades from now. And the sun will likely go nova, if we're still here in a few billion years.
