Yet another casual online game company is coming out of hiding today as Mytopia announces its platform for simple online games such as poker and puzzles.

Gamook gets funding for casual games
Casual game company Gamook has raised $1.5 million in funding from U.S. Venture Partners, Venture Beat has learned. Rick Lewis of USVP confirmed that his firm invested in the company and that he sits on its board of directors. However, Lewis said the company is in stealth mode and isn’t able to describe its operations yet. Gamook is based in Menlo Park, Calif. The company doesn’t yet have a web site.

Kid-oriented online video game firm Fluid Entertainment gets $3.2M
Video games are becoming an addiction for venture capitalists.
Fluid Entertainment, a kid-oriented online video game company, is near a test launch of its massively multiplayer online game and it is the latest to benefit from a round of VC money. The company’s game has relatively simple Flash-based graphics for children ages six to 11 and has an environmentally conscious theme, said Greg Jones, CEO of the Mill Valley, Calif.-based company.
