Electronic Arts buys Hands-On Mobile Korea
Electronic Arts is expanding its grip on the mobile gaming market with its acquisition today of Hands-On Mobile Korea for an undisclosed price.
The deal gives EA a strong presence in the fast-growing South Korean mobile games market, adding to the strong share EA Mobile already has in the U.S. and Europe.

Glu Mobile, mobile publisher, raises $84M in IPO
Glu Mobile, the San Mateo, Calif. mobile game publisher, begins IPO trading today.
It sold 7.3 million common shares, and they begin trading today at $11.50 per share. The company raised about $84 million, and is valued at $327 million.
Venture investors New Enterprise Associates, BA Venture Partners, Globespan Capital Partners, Granite Global Ventures and Sienna Ventures backed the company with about $57 million.
The company is still losing money.
Next generation game start-ups, Bigdog Games and Areae, raise millions
D2C Games (also known as Bigdog Games) and Areae are two of the latest game start-ups boasting “next generation” technology, and they’ve just raised millions of dollars in venture capital.
