People love the fart applications for the iPhone — or love to hate them. Either way, a lot of people are downloading them, and making the developers a lot of money. And where there’s money, there’s lawsuits. And now we have one.

A Christmas iFart explosion: Nearly 40,000 downloads and $30,000 net
A few days ago, we wrote about how an iPhone application that makes farting noises, iFart Mobile, had reached the number one paid application spot in the App Store and was making the developer nearly $10,000 a day. Developer Joel Comm shared some updated data with us today and it blows the other numbers away (pun intended): Christmas Day saw 38,927 downloads of iFart Mobile, making Comm’s InfoMedia $27,249 in net income!

iPhone fart app pulls in nearly $10,000 a day
Apple’s App Store is currently experiencing a plague of fart applications. Last week, I detailed one day in which at least 14 new fart apps were accepted into the store. And now, just in a quick search, it looks like there are about 50 apps all dedicated to making fart noises on your iPhone or iPod touch. Classy, I know, but why are there so many?
