E-Cast snags $17M for bar and club entertainment
E-Cast Media, a company that provides interactive media in the form of music, videos and games to display monitors located in bars, clubs and other entertainment venues, has brought in $17 million in equity, according to a filing with the SEC.

LG Electronics adopts ARM processors in TVs — to help with Web 2.0 features
LG Electronics, the world’s second largest maker of televisions, has adopting ARM’s processors in its line-up of future digital TVs, one more sign of momentum for ARM (ARM.L).
ARM’s chip designs have become popular in mobile smart phones, because they use little power, and they’ve largely killed chip giant Intel’s ambitions so far in that market. ARM has more than 500 customers who license its microprocessor designs. So today’s announcement isn’t that surprising.

Qualcomm cuts deals for its Mirasol displays
Qualcomm made about eight different announcements at the Mobile World Congress today, but most interesting was news of the company’s progress Mirasol displays, which are based on a new way of capturing light with micro-electro-mechanical semiconductor (MEMS) technology.

Intel scores LG as a customer for mobile internet device that can make phone calls
Intel is announcing an important new collaboration with cell phone maker LG Electronics in a strategically important market for the world’s biggest chip maker.
Intel has been touting mobile internet devices, or MIDs, as the next big wave of innovation for a while now. These devices are smaller than laptops and don’t have full-size keyboards. Their main purpose is to access the internet, and they’re actually more like phones than computers.
