Link_A_Media takes $18M for data recovery
Link_A_Media Devices, maker of technology used to recover and transmit data on storage devices, has brought in $18 million in a first round of funding. The Santa Clara, Calif. company is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Keynote Ventures, SunAmerica Ventures, and Itochu Technology Ventures.
Link_A_Media Devices, a data recovery firm, gets $22M
A group of strategic investors and two venture firms has provided a $22 million second round of funding to Link_A_Media Devices, which develops data recovery techniques for use with both hard-disk drives and solid-state drives.
Link_A_Media, based in Santa Clara, Calif., can raise storage density and raise drive yields during the manufacturing process, according to its release. Its first product is for the mobile peripheral storage market.

New online video service Pitchfork.tv launches — The well known music blog Pitchfork has launched its foray into online music video realm and has gotten generally positive reviews. ReadWriteWeb thinks it may challenge the just announced MySpace Music (our coverage), while NewTeeVee thinks it is “catering to the T-shirt-wearing, black-rimmed-glasses set,” which exactly describes me right now — better go try it.
