MyBuys scores $7M for retail recommendation engine

MyBuys, provider of a software service that allows e-commerce sites to make recommendations to customers based on their past purchasing and browsing behavior, has landed $7 million in additional funding.

Based in Redwood City, Calif., the company had previously raised $10 million in 2007 from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Palomar Ventures. Mybuys is already being used by online retail sites for Restoration Hardware, Wine Enthusiast and Armani Exchange.

In case you haven’t noticed, one of the frothiest areas in start-up world lately is behavioral targeting.

With hordes of advertising money moving online, entrepreneurs can make a killing by analyzing user behavior, and hooking that user up with the right ads and products.

MyBuys, which tracks user behavior to help online retailers make better recommendations, has raised $10 million.

Behavioral emarketing company Mybuys raises more money

Redwood Shores, Calif.’s MyBuys, an online behavioral marketing company, has raised an undisclosed amount in a third round of funding from Lightstpeed Ventures, reports TheAlarmClock. The company had raised $2.8M in its first round.

The company says it remarkets to shoppers who abandon shopping carts, among other things.
