Motally to deliver reliable mobile analytics
Existing techniques for measuring mobile traffic to Web sites are pretty awful.
Motally, provider of an analytics platform for mobile phones, has emerged from stealth with $1 million raised from BlueRun Ventures and well-known Silicon Valley angel Ron Conway. The company says it wants to establish analytics standards for the mobile space like those that Google, comScore and Nielsen use to measure web site traffic and data on the internet.

Omniture acquires Mercado assets for $6.5M
Omniture, a web analytics company, announced that it will spend $6.5 million on intellectual property and business assets from Mercado, a Pleasanton, Calif. company specializing in website search and optimization tools.
Omniture, which has already integrated Mercado technology into some of its products, says the acquisition will allow it to offer more site search options to its retail clients, which include big name shopping site Overstock.com. Omniture buys Web site testing company, Offermatica, for $65M
Omniture, which helps companies analyze their customers’ online behavior to boost revenue, has acquired San Francisco’s Offermatica for $65 million. Offermatica helps companies test different aspects of their Web sites, to see how customers respond to changes in content or other features.
Under the deal, Omniture will pay Offermatica $35 million in common stock and $30 million in cash.

Aggregate Knowledge raises $20M, to boost sales on Web sites
Aggregate Knowledge, which tracks Internet user surfing patterns within a site in order to sell them more, has raised $20 million in venture capital, as expected.
We reported about Aggregate Knowledge’s progress in February, including early details of this round.
