Respectance, a social network for people who have passed away
Respectance, a San Francisco company that operates a social network for sharing memories of people who have died, has raised $1.5 million in a first round of funding by Solid Ventures and Big Bang Ventures.

Respectance, a site for people who have died, raises $250,000
An entrepreneur named Todd Wilkinson has launched a social network, Respectance.com, based in San Francisco and Krakow, Poland where people can share their memories of someone who have died.
The company lets people upload photographs and contribute personal reflections, and turns them into a video. It has raised $250,000.
It will announce more funding next month, having secured the backing of a large Dutch VC group, according to the Times of London.
