Location-based tech firm uLocate acquires Zync
ULocate is a Framington, Mass. company that provides location-based services to mobile phone users for Sprint and other networks, on a subscription basis.
It’s got a platform for developers to create locational applications — for instance, an app could be designed to show users all the shopping closest to their current location.
That’s where Zync comes in. Based in Boston, Zync makes predictive software that can provide recommendations to users based on the preferences of similar people.
