Vivendi bids $2.9B for Brazilian carrier GVT to challenge Telefónica
French entertainment and telecom conglomerate Vivendi has prepared a $2.9 billion offer for Brazilian operator GVT. There are lots of hurdles to be cleared, Reuters reports. But the acquisition would be a challenge to Spain’s Telefónica in the largest market in Latin America. Reuters says don’t be surprised if Telefónica counterbids.

Vivendi now delivering free, ad-supported mobile games
Vivendi Universal is the latest giant media company to join the trend of free content delivery — supported by advertising.
