HBO and Walmart the latest to create iPhone apps for promotion
There are a lot of applications available for the iPhone — over 15,000 in fact. Some are good, some are great, a lot are junk, and increasingly, a lot are being made by big brands to promote themselves. Wal-Mart confirms iPhone 3G for Sunday, $2 off
No real surprise here, but Wal-Mart has finally confirmed that it will, in fact, be selling Apple’s iPhone starting this Sunday. The retail chain plans to have the 8 gigabyte model available for $197 and the 16 gigabyte model for $297 — yes, a full $2 off what the device normally costs through Apple and AT&T.

Amazon surges to #3 music store – and four online music stores could be roadkill
Amazon’s music store has only been in business for a month, and rumors are flying that it’s already the #3 online music seller.
