• Are you an artist or do you have Photoshop skills? Make us laugh with an original cartoon.
• Do you strongly agree or disagree with something someone else in the gaming industry has said recently?

If you’re one of those amazing people who has already done all of this, thank you for your participation, and you’re already in the running. If you haven’t yet submitted anything, you have a month and a half to show us your creativity or writing chops and earn a chance to win.

What’s at stake?

Two randomly selected winners from all eligible participants will receive a grab bag full of gaming swag and at least one game. You may get shirts, stickers, toys, posters, downloadable game codes, or whatever else our editor-in-chief Dan “Shoe” Hsu happens to pull out of his closet. (We assure you, his closet is quite full of good stuff.)

Ghostly pumpkin trains are invading the iOS version of Ticket to Ride today, bringing with them new Halloween-themed achievements. To celebrate this holiday update, Days of Wonder (the company behind Ticket to Ride) is giving away Halloween Freighter train sets for the tabletop version of the game.

Days of Wonder released a very silly statement about the update: “We’ve made our two Halloween achievements devilishly tricky, but the rewards will be wicked fun for some of our more entombed players,” said Dark Kaufmann (Mark Kaufman), the “vice presi-dead of macabre” at the company. “Fresh meat may not stand a ghost of a chance.”

Winning a Halloween Freighter set means unlocking the new Ghost Catcher and Pumpkin Master achievements in the iOS version and then sending a picture of your accomplishment to ghosts@daysofwonder.com.

[Brad] has a lot of different stances and crazy moves. He’s hard to use, so if you can beat someone with him, it shows that you’re just that much better. It’s a great feeling.

Using Brad effectively to me is mainly about two things: technical flow and human mind games. Technical flow just comes from learning how he goes from one stance into another and then what he can do in each stance. This just takes practice with his move set in Training Mode. Figure out his flow. Then it’s about tricking your human opponents with his odd moves. That only comes from fighting other people, so jump online or fight with other friends locally.

Her fighting style and controls are easy to master, and I recall winning a tournament using her in the past. Figure out the best moves that suit your style and plan ahead as you confront your opponents. Gradually, you can begin to tell by instinct when the right timings are to perform your moves during the fight.

We have a saying in Japanese, which reads: “What one likes, one will do well.” So find your own favorite character and fighting style, then just keep on playing. The more you play, the better you’ll get.

AMC’s bastardization adaptation of The Walking Dead recently wrapped its second season. With over 9M viewers tuning in for the season finale, a third season is guaranteed. But while fans wait for the rumored October premiere, they’ve taken to analyzing the show up to this point (in meme form, of course).

Winner of multiple RPG and Game of the Year awards in 1999, it is widely considered as one of the best storytelling RPGs in gaming history. With a gentler gameplay difficulty than some of the other AD&D-licensed games Planescape: Torment makes an excellent entry into the Hasbro D&D games for someone who’s new to the genre.

Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition is not only an incredible game in and of itself (It’s a recipient of several critic awards for best RPG game of the year), but it has one of the most enthusiastic modding communities of any RPG ever created, and the quality and variety of adventures you can go on after you’ve finished the main quest are truly staggering. This game is literally one you could play for the rest of your life, if you were determined to get through every single user-created campaign.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard is a fascinating blend of RPG and RTS. While it is not the first D&D RPS, it is the first one set in the Eberron world, and it uses the fascinating mythos of Eberron to good effect, drawing the player into a complicated many-sided struggle over an artifact of immense power. Not an RPG in the traditional sense, it is a very interesting use of the D&D license, and one that received positive reviews for its two-layered tactical approach and fun gameplay.

Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone is an action RPG with some interesting tactical elements to go along with the usual hack and slash of the genre. The game never gets dull because it has three characters, each using a different style of combat, and the player can switch out the active character at any time. The voice acting is filled with star talent like Patrick Stewart and Michael Clarke Duncan. All told, it’s a whirlwind RPG with a fast-paced story and plenty of monster killing–a great example of action RPGs that any fan is sure to love.

Finally, Temple of Elemental Evil is not only a great tactical RPG based off one of the most famously brutal old-school tabletop RPG modules, it’s also FREE FREE to you with the purchase of any other Atari D&D game during this sale! If you’re hankering for one of the tougher tactical RPGs you’re likely to play any time soon, be sure to pick up any of the Atari Hasbro D&D games this week and you’ll be rewarded with this as well!
