The age of flexible electronics is upon us

Flexible electronics promise some very cool products in the not so distant future. They include smart bandages that monitor the vital signs of a wounded soldier. Sensors that can detect where the weakest part of an airplane. Flexible glass that can display digital imagery. And smart trading cards that can transmit information to a digital display.

Is HP getting ready for a big split?

HP announced yesterday that it is merging two of its big divisions: the Personal Systems Group (PSG) and the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), with the resulting group being lead by Todd Bradley (current GM of PSG).

HP launches first-of-its-kind Z1 all-in-one workstation

At a big event in Las Vegas today, Hewlett-Packard unveiled the world’s first all-in-one workstation with a 27-inch diagonal display. The new HP Z1 Workstation finally brings the convenience and attractive looks of the all-in-one consumer computers to businesses that need no-compromise performance.

Hewlett-Packard showed off its giant VantagePoint touchscreen recently by playing a giant game of Pong on the interactive screen. The screen consists of six 47-inch monitors connected in an aluminum frame. HP’s Carlos Montalvo squared off against blogger Adrian Covert of Gizmodo for the Pong demo.

HP goes all-in with all-in-one PCs

Hewlett-Packard is launching such a big pile of products today it reminds me of the days when the company used to call its product launches “the Big Bang.” But today’s releases focus on a segment of computing known as the all-in-one PC, which has a keyboard, monitor and computer all packaged into one machine.
