Demand response co. EnerNoc lands $100M contract

EnerNoc (ENOC.O), one of the growing number of companies focused on demand response — the management and redistribution of power based on real-time changes in demand — has landed a contract with PJM Interconnection, an electricity transmission company in the mid-Atlantic region, to manage 1,000 megawatts worth upwards of $100 million.

Uploading photos to web sharing sites — as fast as you can take pictures — is kind of a new obssession for the digerati. Eye-Fi is riding that wave with memory cards that have built-in Wi-Fi antennae that can upload photos to photo-sharing sites.

Songbird, a browser-integrated media player, received $8M last year

Although we reported in October 2006 that Songbird had taken $1 million from Atlas Ventures and Sequoia Capital, it apparently only took another two months for the company to land another $8 million.

The funding in December 2006 came from the same two funds, according to TechCrunch. It remained unreported, until now.

Trilogy Studios, a video and virtual game co., raises $3.2M

Trilogy Studios, a Santa Monica, Calif. videogame and virtual world development company, said it has raised $3.2 million in a second round of funding.

The company did not name the investors, but said the funds will be allocated to expand the company’s virtual world and casual massively multiplayer online (MMO) businesses.

The company joins a crowd of other venture-backed game and virtual world companies, and its not clear what makes this company distinct.
