Aptus takes $30M to repair aneurysms
Aptus Endosystems, a biotech firm working on a device to fix abdominal aneurysms, just brought in $30 million in third-round funding to finish off clinical trials of its Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair System, reports VentureWire. Heron Capital led the round, which also included Longitude Capital, Oakwood Medical Investors, Baird Venture Partners, FirstMark Capital, Prism VentureWorks and US Venture Partners.

Baird Venture Partners gets a new $170M fund
Baird Venture Partners, which is a life science and information tech investor has closed its third fund. At $170 million it’s over twice as large as its previous one, according to VentureWire.
This new fund is expected to dish out money to about 20 companies. Given that the fund it so much larger than its previous ones, the company should have plenty of money to spend on these companies over its deals.
