Emergent Game Technologies raises $12M more for game applications
Emergent Game Technologies, a Calabasas, Calif. company that makes applications to help with game development, said it has raised $12 million in a fourth round of funding.
The round was led by Jerusalem Venture Partners and Worldview Technology Partners, with some help from Adena Ventures, Walker Ventures, Copan, and Cisco Systems. Emergent says its its technology has been used in more than 200 gaming titles.

ZeroG Wireless, low power RF chip design company, raises more than $13M
ZeroG Wireless, a Sunnyvale, Calif. semiconductor company focused on the design and development of low power Radio Frequency (RF) chips, has raised more than $13 million in financing.
Investors in the initial round include Cisco, Greylock Partners and Morgenthaler. The money will be used for the research, development and manufacture of its chip.
Avega, home entertainment wireless network co., raises $7M
Avega Systems, a company that helps manage entertainment and other content across wireless home networks, has raised $7 million in a second round of funding.
The investment was led by Cisco Systems, JAFCO Asia and Technology Venture Partners — and is just the latest move by Cisco to expand into the home.
Avega Systems has headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif. and R&D based in Sydney, Australia.

Ayaya buys mobile software company Traverse for $15M — a loss for investors
Avaya, a New Jersey maker of corporate telephone equipment, has acquired Traverse Networks, of Fremont, for $15 million.
Traverse makes software that lets customers connect mobile devices to their networks, so that their employees can use applications and better manage voice mail while on the go.
