Chelsio Communications, a company that provides 10-gigabite Ethernet unified wires, has brought in $9.3 million of a targeted $16 million round of venture funding, according to a filing with the SEC. Canesta scores its 37th U.S. patent for gesture-control technology

Maybe I’m paranoid, but I can smell a legal battle coming in gesture control for TVs, computers, game consoles and other gadgets.

Chelsio Communications raises $25M for 10Gb ethernet

Chelsio is a Sunnyvale, Calif. company that makes unified wire adapters for 10 gigabit ethernet connections.

Its adapters are capable of replacing other technologies like Fibre Channels and Infiniband, according to the company. Chelsio and other vendors including NetEffect and Woven Systems are pushing to see fast 10GbE technology adopted by datacenters.

Summit Micro, a chip power management co., raises $10M

Summit Microelectronics, a Sunnyvale, Calif. maker of programmable power management integrated circuits, said it raised $10 million.

Nokia Growth Partners led with $4 million, and was joined by existing investors Norwest Venture Partners, August Capital, Pequot Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Hotung Capital Management and others.
