Nurien Software raises $15 million for Asian social networking and gaming service
Nurien Software, a Korean social networking and online gaming company, has raised $15 million in a first round of venture capital from investors in the U.S. and China.
The company lets users create their own avatars and then socialize in a variety of topic areas. Its service has been in development for three years. Investors include Beijing-based Northern Light Venture Capital, Globespan Capital Partners, New Enterprise Associates, and QiMing Venture Partners.

Chinese venture capital firm Northern Light raises $350M total
Northern Light, a venture capital firm that backs Chinese companies, has raised a total of $350 million for its second fund, according to the firm.
In December, we reported the firm raised an initial $236 million.
Northern Light Venture, based in Beijing and Shanghai, is partly backed by Greylock, NEA, and includes Flight Investment and Princeton University as investors.

Northern Light Venture Capital, a venture capital firm that backs Chinese companies, has raised its second fund with at least $236 million, according to regulatory filings cited by VentureWire (subscription required).

Mobile TV chip company, Telegent, raises $20M
Telegent Systems, a Sunnyvale, Calif. company that makes chips for mobile TV, said it has raised $20 million in a third round financing.
Northern Light Venture Capital is the latest investor in Telegent, with existing Telegent investors participating. Total external investment in Telegent now totals $50 million. Previous investors include New Enterprise Associates and Walden International and Index Ventures.
Northern Light is a China-focused venture firm, where Telegent has a subsidiary.

Aerohive Networks raises $20M for controller-less wireless LAN
Aerohive Networks, a Santa Clara, Calif. company that offers a controller-less wireless LAN access point which it hopes will challenge competing products from Cisco, Aruba and Trapeze, has raised $20 million in second round o financing.
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the investment, while prevoius investors Northern Light Venture Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners participated. Total funding is now $24 million.
