InSound raises capital to the tune of $2.8M to sell hearing aids
InSound Medical, a manufacturer of invisible hearing aids that can be worn for extended periods of time, has brought in $2.8 million of a targeted $4.5 million round of debt and rights, according to a filing with the SEC. Past investors in the Newark, Calif. company include the Stanford Group, CMEA Capital, De Novo Ventures, Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Psilos Group, Sightline Partners and Gund Investment.

Endoscopic Tech nabs $11M for heart surgery tools
Medical device maker Endoscopic Technologies brought in an $11 million tranche of second-round funding from Boston Scientific, Telegraph Hill Partners and Saints Capital. The money will be used to further develop the San Ramon, Calif. company’s line of devices that aid in cardiothoracic surgeries like bypasses and valve repairs, reports VentureWire.

OmniGuide raises $25 million for non-invasive laser surgery
OmniGuide has raised $25 million in a fifth round of financing to expand its laser surgery business. The company, based in Cambridge, Mass., makes BeamPath, a flexible optical fiber used to guide CO2 laser beams in surgery.
New investor Psilos Group led the round and was joined by existing investors 3i, Argonaut Ventures, ESI, Gainesborough Investments, Stata Venture Partners and Westbury Partners.

Health Hero raises $16M for web-based home monitoring technology
Health Hero Network, a Redwood City start-up that provides a Web-based technology for people to monitor chronic health problems from their home, has raised $16 million in a second round of funding.
