Teknovus captures $5.6M for optical Ethernet chips
Teknovus, a provider of Ethernet optical networking chips, has brought in $5.6 million in convertible promissory notes, preferred and common stock, according to a filing with the SEC. Based in Petaluma, Calif., the company is backed by Partech International, Focus Ventures, Galleon Group, Itochu Technology Ventures, U.S. Venture Partners, Vision Venture Capital, Mitsubishi, Technology Alliance Investment and Samsung Ventures America.
Strix strings together funds for wi-fi expansion
Strix Systems, a Calabasas, Calif. provider of wi-fi equipment, announced that it raised an undisclosed round of strategic investments to fuel expansion of its mesh-like wireless networks nationwide and overseas. Inside Contactless, a company that makes chips for “contactless payments,” has raised an additional $4 million from Samsung Ventures America to complete its $42 million third round of funding. Quellan, a Santa Clara, Calif. company that reduces noise interference on weak wireless signals, said it has raised $20 million in a third round of financing.
