Link_A_Media Devices, maker of technology used to recover and transmit data on storage devices, has brought in $18 million in a first round of funding. The Santa Clara, Calif. company is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Keynote Ventures, SunAmerica Ventures, and Itochu Technology Ventures.

Verimatrix raises $20M for TV content security

Verimatrix, a company that develops software and equipment to keep cable television from being illicitly intercepted by non-paying customers, has raised a third round of funding.

The company did not disclose the amount in a press release, but several sources, including Xchange, are reporting that it was $20 million.

CrownPeak raises $6M for web content management

CrownPeak, a startup that offers online software to help companies manage their web content, has raised $6 million in a second round of funding.

This round brings CrownPeak’s total funding to $10.25 million. It was led by SunAmerica Ventures, with backing from existing investors Sigma Partners and Altos Ventures.

Siimpel raises $21.5M for imaging technology for cellphones

Siimpel Corp., an Arcadia, Calif., maker of imaging technology for cellphone cameras, has raised $21.5 million in a fourth round of funding.

SunAmerica Ventures led the round. Other investors include Motorola, Qualcomm and Micron Technology and existing backers Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Scale Venture Partners, Global Catalyst Partners, Portage Venture Partners and Zone Venture Partners.

The company improves imaging for camera technology in cellphones, using MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems), optics, electro-optical design, image sensors, packaging and camera electronics.
