Financial data software co. Vhayu sells to Thomson Reuters

Vhayu Technologies, maker of software and hardware that processes large volumes of financial data to help firms make faster and more effective trading decisions, has been bought by workflow tools giant Thomson Reuters for an unspecified amount, reports VentureWire. Based in Los Gatos, Calif., Vhayu will bring 70 clients with it, as well as $19 million in venture capital raised since 2001 from backers like Menlo Ventures, DB Capital Partners and SVB Capital.

FireEye raises $14.5M for botnet protection

FireEye has raised $14.5 million in a third round of funding to continue its efforts to protect consumers and businesses from “botnets”, which are networks of infected and remotely controlled computers.

Ashar Aziz, the company’s founder and chief executive, says FireEye complements traditional antivirus and security programs. Nomis raises $8M for loan pricing software

Nomis Solutions, a San Bruno, Calif. company that provides software banks to guide them on how to charge customers for loans, has raised $8 million in a third round of financing.

The company’s software analyzes customer data, and helps banks maximize profits.
