EMKinetics raises $500K for incontinence treatment

EMKinetics, a Santa Cruz, Calif. company that uses electric pulses as a therapy to prevent urinary incontinence, has raised a $500,000 first round of funding, according to VentureWire.

The company is using technology that it licensed from TheraNova. The electric pulses, variously called neuromodulation or neurostimulation, are also used by other companies for pain relief, hypertension and other treatments.
