Grockit raises $2.3M for online test preparation

Grockit, a San Francisco company that helps students prepare for tests online, has raised $2.3 million of a planned $2.7 million first round of capital, according to a regulatory filing cited by PE Wire.

Benchmark Capital led the deal, with Mitch Lasky taking a board seat.

Benchmark Capital hires Lasky, of Jamdat fame

Benchmark Capital has hired Mitch Lasky, the early chief executive of mobile games company Jamdat Mobile that was acquired by Electronic Arts in late 2005.

Lasky will move to Silicon Valley from Los Angles to join Benchmark’s seven other partners. Benchmark is considered a leading venture firm, having invested in eBay, Tellme, MySQL and others.
