Sprint, which has some pretty lousy wireless coverage in Bay Area, told us yesterday it has temporarily halted building new cell towers here until it can rebuild the hundreds that have gone down in Louisiana area. We found this out when we called customer service to complain about lack of a signal at Fremont, where they’re supposed to be building a new tower. Now that we know, we’ll temporarily stop cursing Sprint every time a call is dropped. At least they have their priorities straight during this time of tragedy.
Update 9/5: Sprint says in this WSJ piece (sub req) that it has gotten 35 of 208 cellular sites back up.
