Telsima, of Santa Clara, is the latest company to raise more venture capital to pursue a WiMAX strategy.

WiMAX networks allow high-speed, wireless Internet connections over long distances.

Telsima has just raised $20 million. This is notable because just a year and half ago, one of Telsima’s backers, NewPath Ventures, told us Telsima was focused on a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) product mainly to the Indian market.

In the 4th quarter of last year, Telsima reported it had raised $24.7 million from Intel Capital.
