Silicon Valley venture firm Foundation Capital has promoted Charles Moldow to general partner.
Moldow was a former exec at voice company Tellme Networks, and he’ll be focusing on consumer Internet companies, wireless, software as a service and Internet telephony, he told VentureBeat.
He has worked as a venture partner at the firm for more than a year, and sourced the Powerset deal VentureBeat wrote about yesterday.
He also worked at @Home, a telecommunications company that went bankrupt after the Internet bubble burst — which is where he met Adam Grosser, another partner at Foundation.
Among Foundation’s companies Moldow has worked with are TuVox, Traverse, Rinera, DermaCare and Arroyo (recently sold to Cisco).
Moldow holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
