Some of you all just head about the Collector’s edition being released for Dragon Age.  Now some of you are thinking to your selves why should this concern me as I am not going to purchase this.  What if you are going to purchase Mass Effect 2 and really over looked this one detail that you may or may not have known.

Really though why you may be more inclined to pick up Dragon Age: Origins Collectors edition for the 360 or PC.   It just may be for some Mass Effect 2 in game content.  Below is the list of Collectors Edition contents I found on www.gamestop.com:

-Tin Case
-Bonus DVD including:
      A making of documentary
      Soundtrack
      Trailers
     Wallpaper
     Concept art video
     Strategy tips.
-Cloth Map
-3 pieces of exclusive in-game content:
Bergen’s Honor: A massive helmet made out of dragonbone (+2 to armor, +25 physical resistance, +6 to attack)
Grimoire of the Frozen Wates: A special book that adds +3 to all attributes when read
Final Reason: A magical staff of immense power (adds to damage, spell power, and fire damage)
-Additional In Game Content:
"The Stone Prisoner" unlockable bonus quest and unlockable character, Shale
-An unlockable item for Mass Effect 2:
Get an exclusive in-game item for use in the upcoming title Mass Effect 2

I highlighted the Mass Effect 2 content you will be getting when you purchase for either your 360 or PC.  As it does not tell you what it is one can only speculate it will be something very helpful.

Honestly I would like to know the Marketing person behind this.  Not to bash or cuse him out, but to really pick his/her brain.  For one this may have happened before with out other games, but in this day and age people pick up games for just the extras sometimes.  Example of this happening would be the Crackdown fiasco that happened with the Halo 3 Beta.  Yes I was one of those poor souls that bought a Halo 3 Beta disk and then turn around to trade it in.  Only to realize a year later I enjoyed Crackdown more then Halo 3.

If you don’t care about in game items then I don’t seeing you picking up this game.  How ever if you pick up the collectors edition will you be now more inclined to pick up Mass Effect 2?  Really the people who are marketing this I don’t think realized how this may or may not impact a players of either game or both games.  Me on the other hand since BioWare has yet to do a Sony exclusive game wont effect my decision to buy this collectors edtion for the PS3.

For those of you who were not aware and now have more information.  Good luck on the decision that you now have to make as to wonder if the Mass Effect 2 in game item is really worth it.
