For a series dominated by zombies, mutants and wild animals, Resident Evil has actually had an imposing human antagonist in Albert Wesker. He betrayed his fellow officers in the original game (14 year old spoiler alert) and has been a nuisance ever since. Resident Evil 5 should have been a cathartic experience, one where gamers finally got to knock the smug bastard down a few pegs. The coolness factor of watching him dodge bullets and punch through walls increased the stakes as the game progressed. Yet the finale was marred by an extended quicktime event sequence which led to a final battle against a less-than-human incarnation of the man. Albert (Mister Wesker if you’re nasty) deserved better.
