Facebook is set to open an engineering office in Seattle this summer. The company is bringing on Hadi Partovi, who co-founded and sold iLike to MySpace and TellMe Networks to Microsoft, to build the team.

“Seattle has a strong history of innovation and is home to thousands of talented technical people who we want to help us solve the challenges of designing and building the next generation of Facebook,” wrote Ari Steinberg in a blog post.

The move brings a 10th U.S. office to the social network on top of its most recent addition in Austin, Texas, and this will be its first real engineering-focused office outside of Palo Alto. Facebook also has offices abroad in Dublin, London, Milan, Paris, Stockholm, Sydney and Toronto.
