Celebrities won’t have an excuse anymore for dull fan websites.

Site Canvas is launching tools today that let people create websites with rich, dynamic content without having to pay huge fees.

The Los Angeles-based company, which was previously operating in stealth mode as Owned Networks, says its software lets high-visibility clients such as brands, charities, athletes, politicians, or celebrities — create a site with “dynamic digital presence.” That means it has fancy things like real-time feeds or video.

The company claims the Site Canvas VIP online tools let customers create better web sites in as little as 48 hours. Some well-known names that have used the tools are broadcaster and former football star Michael Strahan (bel0w), reality TV star Holly Madison, Victoria Secret model Adriana Lima (pictured top), and hockey star Sean Avery. The company says it fills the gap between low-end templates that let you create cheap and boring websites and the high-cost web sites with all of the bells and whistles.

The tools use a back-end database system that functions as a blank canvas. It lets designers create a precise prototype of a website that has a lot of features but doesn’t rely on cookie cutter options. Site Canvas’ technology team works with clients to develop the right custom features. You can use it to create social networks, community features, virtual gifts apps, and other apps.

The company also offers a concierge service that includes an internal team of designers, developers and other web experts. Brendan Kane, chief executive, has been building sites for more than a decade.

Kane founded the company in 2008 and raised less than $1 million in angel funds. The company has 20 employees.
