Since Mobcast 66 was released August 16th, 2010 for everyone's listening pleasure. I have been mulling over how I play and think about the games I play. For me it was thinking do I not finish games because they are bad or even just finish the story because I enjoy it. Maybe I enjoy the game so much I try to get the Achievement/ Trophy's for it like Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

During a Goozex trade I obtained Chaotic: Shadow Warriors for the PS3. Yes, this is a game based off a Saturday morning cartoon and a trading card game. Playing this game after listening to the podcast made me think about my gaming. In my que to finish is Singularity which I am only 1/3 of the way through. Don't get me wrong that Singularity is a bad game in any way. However I bought it because of the developer instead of my gaming preferences.

See Raychul was talking about how Nintendo is just putting out games with out something new like Donkey Kong Country Returns. I am paraphrasing in my own words on how I interpreted it. Personally I love old school side scrolling games even if they only have updated graphics.

Then again I noticed more lately I would rather play games that have cartoonish looking graphics. This is one reason why I just can't really get into Singularity like I can with the Chaotic: Shadow Warriors game. With my purchases I see a trend where I buy and enjoy the cartoon games over the more realistic ones.

It is that safe feeling knowing you are playing a game with mechanics that work and love. Guess that is the reason why I enjoy torchlight. It didn't bring anything new to the dungeon crawler, but who cares as it just made me happy being a loot whore just the same.

Now for August 31st to come for some Castle Crashers on the PS3 to have some side scrolling beat-em up fun. Of course while I wait for Donkey Kong Country Returns and it's old fun game mechanics to be played on my Wii.
