Not to be outdone by Sony and DC comics, Marvel Announced during a live event in San Francsico that Gazillion Entertainment is hard at work on a Free to play MMO game for marvel that'll let gamers play as Iconic marvel characters from Captain America to Wolverine (yes even lesser known characters like Squirrle girl).

The panel did reveal that players will play in a variety of venus and timelines spanning the entire marvel universe (most like including stories like Civil War to the Carnage saga from the spiderman comics in the 90's). Brian Michael Bendis himself will be be head writer for the marvel mmo. (who by the way wrote stories like House Of M, Secret Invasion, Ultimate Spider-man amoung others.)

Bendis explained that unlike other comic book based mmo games (mainly champions online and DC universe online) you won't have to create your own character.

Also during the panel (that i took part in) did divulge that the story of the game will have events and challenges players will face set up by Infamous Fantastic Four Villain, Dr. Doom. Also the game will feature many strong female protagonists. Also the game will be geared toward Hardcore gamers as opposed to the Kid friendly, Browser based Superhero squad game.

Jeff linde, Studio Director of Secret Indenity, an internal division of Gazillion Entertainmnent confirmed that the game is confirmed for PC only, but avoided clarifying whether the game would play through a Web browser or through a downloadable client and that the game will be powered by Unreal Technology. As for a release date on the game, Gazillion was tight lipped on when it would come out, but has mentioned the game has been in development for a little over a year and that it is at least an another year out…at least.

If any new info or screens of the game become available i'll try my best to post them up. in the meantime if you wish to find out about the game there's a 90 minute video up at
