Battlefield 3Be advised: Battlefield 4 could already be mustering in EA's barracks. An attendee of an EA college campus event tweeted company president Frank Gibeau as saying "There is going to be a BF4" during a keynote speech. Gibeau didn't give a specific time frame for the title's release, but at least we can knock off "Game confirmed by common sense" in our Must-write News Stories bucket list.

The next Xbox console might arrive in time for stocking stuffage in the holiday 2012 season. Tech reporter Paul Thurott talked about Microsoft's upcoming bundle of wires and circuit boards on the Windows Weekly podcast, describing the console's integration with the rest of MS' product lineup (including phones and Windows systems) along with an adoption of the company's unified Metro interface scheme.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has an infinite number of quests. Director Todd Howard told Wired that even after completing all the plotline-related quests, players will still get procedurally generated quests from various non-playable characters, dictated by unexplored areas and which items haven't been acquired yet. "The vibe of the game is that it's something that you can play forever," Howard said. I'm glad; by the time I uprooted my 100th nirnroot in the cliffside vampire cave that took me three days to travel to in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, I was beginning to feel a little cramped.
