Skyrim 1.6 patch update mounted combat

Fans will be pleased to learn that yet another feature from the 2012 Game Jam is making its way to Skyrim in the next update. Bethesda announced today that incoming version 1.6 will included mounted combat, allowing melee and ranged attacks to be performed while riding a horse. Bethesda previously added slow-motion kill-cams and Kinect functionality, both of which were first shown off during the Game Jam presentation.

Does this mean flying vampires and dragon mounts are coming soon? Let’s speculate wildly!

The update also fixes a number of bugs, most of which are tied to the two aforementioned features (kill-cams and Kinect support).

  12. Fixed issue where bow damage was being calculated incorrectly
  13. Fixed rare problem with werewolf kill moves would not finish animating properly
  14. In “The Break of Dawn” fixed rare issue where Meridia’s Beacon would disappear from player’s inventory
  15. Fixed occasional issue where followers would disappear after player pays off a bounty after committing a crime
  16. Fixed issue where certain creatures and NPCs would fail to respawn properly
  17. Fixed rare issue with dialogue subtitles not displaying properly
  18. Fixed issue with water appearing blurry when loading a saved game after creating a save underwater
  19. Fixed issue where map cursor would occasionally disappear after closing a message box with Kinect enabled (Xbox 360)
  20. Fixed rare issue with shouts only performing the first level and not other unlocked levels with Kinect enabled (Xbox 360)
  21. Fixed issue where the shout buttons would stop working properly if users mashed LB and RB during cooldown with Kinect enabled (Xbox 360)
