It’s that time of year. The Steam Summer Sale has arrived. From now until June 30th, Valve’s popular PC gaming platform will have hundreds of games on sale, with discounts found nearly site-wide. That said, if you want the best bang for your buck, don’t just buy anything that catches your eye. Your best bet is to pick up titles discounted during Daily Deals and Flash Sales.

The Daily Deals refresh every 24 hours at 10am Pacific, while the Flash Sales occur every 8 hrs. Below we’ve listed the best of Day 1, and you can check out all the action here.

Interestingly enough in context of the big Steam sale launching today, other PC gaming retailers have focused on discounting EA Origin titles. EA cut Titanfall down to $29.99, while GameFly has Battlefield 4 at only $19.99 after a coupon. Plenty of other titles are available, including the Dragon Age titles for $4 below.

If you’re a console gamer, you’re not out of the discount loop this week. GameFly launched a “Under $20 Used Game Blowout Sale” with huge price breaks on primarily Xbox 360 and PS3 games. The full sale can be seen here, while below we’ve listed some of the best deals.
